As we move into the spring, I’m taking a close look at the areas in my life where I feel overstuffed or overwhelmed.  Do any of these resonate with you?

1 – Email – I feel like I’m drowning in my inbox. I still love you all.

2 – Food – what wasn’t good for me last year now gets approval.  Coffee anyone?

3 – Culture – diversity, inclusion, intersectionality.  Aren’t we all people?

I’ve already ‘slimmed down’ with no TV Monday through Thursday nights.  My overall mental health is better, I’m sleeping a minimum of seven hours and I have spent quality time with wonderful friends instead of 3+ hours in front of my TV.  A rough guess?  I’ve recovered 12 hours per week of my life.

As the days get longer and warmer, I invite you to ‘slim down’ in some areas of your life and nourish yourself with friends and loved ones, and the activities that truly bring you joy and nourish you.  Not sure what to do or where to start?  Make it small – have coffee with a friend just because.  I believe we are craving community and friendship for nourishment but may not always know where to begin.

I think Michael Jackson had it right: “We are the world, we are the children, we are the ones who make a brighter day so let’s start living…”

Enjoy the light and love of those close to you!
