I am a huge fan of high heels and absolutely love wearing them! My mother, Sandra Rice, captured this feeling perfectly in this painting she did for me! (look under the heel on the floor and you’ll see MOM). Red heels, jeans and a little sparkle.

Whether you enjoy heels, slides, flip flops, sneakers, boots or clogs – how are you stepping out into April?

There is such a mix of emotions in my body and heart as the vaccine eligibility age continues to drop in NY State. At times, I’m looking over my shoulder wondering “is it truly safe to come out and play?”

This past year has been an assault on your entire system – your body may be stiff from the lack of movement. Your heart may be missing the love from not being with family and friends and feeling their physical touch. And your entire central nervous system (more than 90,000 miles of sensations) may have been on high alert for the past 12 months – making it difficult to fully embrace life.

Take your time as you step out. Give your system a chance to regulate. Breathe deeply in the outside air to expand your lungs. Move with long strides to open your hips. Look out on the horizon to bring your head back into alignment. Smile under your mask to move the facial muscles. Stand tall with your posture – lengthening your Covid Curved spine.

My body and heart welcome the signs of spring, the warmer weather, the light in people’s eyes over their masks and the hope of what lies ahead. I promise to not jump on you like a puppy if I see you, but I have to say, it will indeed be a glorious day when we are all hugging again!

Wishing you a beautiful week ahead and the peace and breath to regulate your entire central nervous system. Here’s to stepping out!
