I continue to be inspired by the idea that we can all contribute in some way to the health of our world through social and self responsibility. We must first take action to guard our own health – our greatest asset. Ideas are wonderful, but implementation is key!

Strive to reach “The Basics” this summer for your own health FIRST. Eight glasses of water daily, 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily, a minimum of seven hours of sleep each night. I repeat this again this week to remind you to keep it simple. You will then be a role model to those around you - family, friends and co-workers.

Have the courage to create a healthy life for yourself. You do matter, you are important, and the world most certainly needs your positive health and energy. :)

It’s been two weeks since Barack Obama was sworn in as President of the United States and called for an era of social responsibility. And it’s that call to action that has kept me passionate at a time when there is such distress in our country.

Just as with movement, a little bit goes such a long way.

I invite each of you to get involved somehow in your community. It will nourish your heart and your soul. It wil help you as an individual and give you pride in taking part in this enormous effort. If you are looking for a way to get connected visit www.usaservice.org.

Nothing is the same. The rules are completely different and the course is completely uncharted. But deep down I do find it exciting as well, for this is truly a time to create anew.

I am committed to being part of a socially responsible culture. I believe women need to stay healthy and grounded in order to help our nation heal. I hope you will join me in this call to action and I invite you to share your stories on my blog.

Wishing you a peaceful and compassionate day…
