The morning of the 11th was again a bit wobbly and weepy for me.  I lit my candle, placed it in front of my picture of the now “famous” 3 firemen raising the flag and said a prayer for a world peace.  It was the first year I had decided to go out and work with clients in the morning instead of staying home and listening to the names of the lost being read at Ground Zero.  I made a conscious effort to feel my feet on the earth as a walked across 34th Street and was accutely aware of my breath.  There was a stillness in the air.  It may have been the rain or the somber feelings of a city and nation in what felt to me like a dilema between mourning and moving on.  This year’s ceremony was not in the “pit” as usual due to construction.  Change?!  How are the families and friends of the victims moving on?

Change is probably our greatest challenge and most welcomed friend.  Change is an opportunity for growth.  Change can challenge us mentally, physically and emotionally.  Change can make your insides feel nauseous and your body want to stop dead in it’s tracks.  Change can empower you in ways that are beyond your wildest dreams.

I’m smack in the middle of another growth spurt.  Ouch and yeah.  Trying to recognize the things I have done in the past that do not work and lay down some new “tracks” by adjusting my body, mind and spirit.  I am constantly fending off the fear factor, but that seems to be subsiding.  Actually, I don’t think it’s fear as I thought I knew it, but CHANGE.  Stepping out of the ordinary to do the extraordinary.  It means making myself vulnerable to others by expressing my concerns, needs and ambitions.  And yet the vulnerability seems to be making me stronger.

Take a chance and make a change.  If it’s the same old, same old for you, write down what that is and then list all the help and support you would need to move toward a more empowering place.  I guarantee you it is not easy, but I also guarantee you that nothing is as invigorating as making a life change.

I wish you courage in your life’s ambitions, a loving and caring team to help you achieve your change and a world of peace around you as you trust your process of vulnerability.  You and the world will benefit deeply from your strength in leading a full life.  Breathe deeply…
