Happy New Year dear friends!
10 days since Christmas and here I am!
On the other side of eye surgery sporting my wrap around shades. :)
What a journey this has been!
You know I love anatomy, so here goes. The vitreous gel in my eye pulled away causing a bleed that blurred my vision completely in the right eye. The doctor went in and drained the blood and fortunately there was no retinal detachment. He said it was age related, but I’m sticking with my double pirouettes story!
As a teacher, it’s been amazing to hear my words come back from you:
“Take your time.”
“Listen to your body.”
“Move slowly.”
“Trust yourself.”
“Rest deeply.”
And I’m doing my best to do all of those things.
But honestly, I have been a jumble of emotions at times because my body wants to move yet I can hear the doctor telling me “take it easy.” There’s more to explore here for myself as I sit with the anxiety that arises when I don’t exercise or dance. Fascinating really. Walking in nature while trying to smile in the frigid cold seems to keep me uplifted.
The healing has taken top priority.
All of this to say thank you! Thank you for your emails, texts and calls. And if I haven’t responded to you, please know I did receive it!
Here’s to walking into the New Year with eyes wide open!
See you soon!
