“Be in the moment”…so the zen-like mantra goes. But for many of my clients I realize this can be a huge stretch from the zainy, stressed-out, overly scheduled, too much caffeine, not enough sleep, lifestyle. So how about “Be in today – Thursday?”
I love this idea! Here it is Thursday, and I am stuck on Wednesday’s uncompleted “to do” list and the unsettling conversation with a business colleague. Here it is Thursday, and I am fast forwarding to February when my paper has to be completed for the three year training program I have been attending. So what is it like to be in Thursday?!
Ahh…there’s more breath. There’s mindfulness while I walk my dog, Champagne, and there’s even time to blog which I do love but seems to get put on the back burner more often than not. I love being in Thursday!
Try it out! If you can’t be in the moment, be in today. It might just help “the rest of us” reach mindfulness by taking it one day at a time. Looking forward to Friday…wait…it’s STILL Thursday :)
