Just a quick reminder…
ALL movement counts! As you continue to come out from behind your screen and engage in a fuller life once again, take the time to observe how much you ARE moving!
Did you sit down and stand up at least three times today?
Did you reach your arms overhead stretching to a top shelf?
Did you walk to the subway, in a store, or outside?
It all counts!
This past weekend I was inspired again by a broad range of movement. David fired up the chain saw while we dragged the downed trees (upper body), steadied them to be cut (lower body) and stacked the wood (full body). What a workout!
You don’t have to spend the day cutting up trees (lol), but I find it super helpful to get curious about your movement. So often you may be berating yourself for all the things you are NOT doing. Instead, shift your focus on what you ARE doing.
Listening to the wisdom of your body – honoring what it is telling you, and acting on it in an honest, compassionate way – is an empowering approach to staying healthy. So simple and yet so challenging.
