My Masters of Movement have gotten to where they are step by step, one molecule at a time. This is exactly how our latest Master of Movement embraced and is sustaining an active lifestyle. Rhonda joined my program in 2007 and has since been an enthusiastic cheerleader for our entire community.
Our fourth Master of Movement is Shanda Davis, who I met in an on-site workplace movement program called the Commit to Change Health Initiative. We met in February 2012 and I have had the pleasure of seeing Shanda's commitment to an active lifestyle grow.
Today's featured Master of Movement is Marianne Stephan, who began with me in my pilates classes in 2008. Marianne was hesitant to start a movement program, and today she herself works in a gym and has developed a passionate love of movement. She likes boxing, kettlebells, TRX, and high aerobic ativities such as "burpees" which she describes in our interview.
Our second Master of Movement faced the challenge in front of her by steadying herself-- on her bicycle! Virginia Tatakis-Calder accomplished an incredible 108 mile trek across Maine, training incrementally to prepare herself for the challenge.
As part of one of my newer monthly features, my Masters of Movement series is meant to showcase the women who have found their rhythm by discovering the type of movement that nourishes them most. I'd like you all to meet our first Master of Movement Melissa Mace!
