Yikes!  Just came back in yesterday after a relaxing and nourishing time off. Wow!  The fast pace of New York City really caught me by surprise…again.  While I LOVE the thrill of the Big Apple, my time off this year was at a much slower pace with time by the ocean, quality time with my family, laughing with my Yorkie, Champagne and sinking my hands into the earth while gardening.  The concrete sidewalks of New York were quite a shock to my system this morning as Champagne and I made our way around the block!  The noise, the dirt, the pace, the chaos.  You’ve got to love it…and fortunately, I still do.

Wishing you a peaceful transition from summer to fall.  Give yourself time to adjust to the season and take full advantage of moving your body in the upcoming cooler days.  Your body is a very sensitive system, but one that may adapt with joy to a rigorous lifestyle filled with activity.  That’s what I’m hoping for anyway, once I get myself back to my “New York state of mind!”   Maybe I won’t wait until next summer to step off this dramatic speed.  I’ve come to learn that “down shifting” more frequently may lead to a greater peace of mind.
