Green is often associated with growth, harmony, freshness, safety and the environment. Green can also evoke feelings of abundance, peace, security and rest. Are you getting enough green in your life?

Studies suggest exposure to green and green space can reduce rates of depression and could improve processing speed and attention in middle aged women. Green space can also provide relief from stress, noise and air pollution. Even looking out the window at trees or watching nature videos seems to shift something in your brain and boost your mood!

Add summer green vegetables to the mix (think spinach, arugula, asparagus, bell peppers, and swiss chard) and you’ve got a winning combination for a vibrant summer season!

As the Alicia Keys song  “Empire State of Mind”  suggests “New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of, there’s nothing you can’t do..” Yet you may not always find the green or focus on it with intention.

Wherever you live in this glorious world, be in the GREEN. Stand barefoot in the grass, hug a tree, sit on a bench and stair at the trees, hold a flower, look out your window after a long day on the computer. Your mind will be at ease, your breath will steady, your heart will soften, and your circulation will regulate.

Feel the steadiness of your connection to the earth.

You are one with nature.

And your body yearns to feel the sensations of peace, security and rest.
