I love this season – long days, warm nights, fun with friends and a reset of goals and aspirations.

It’s also a wonderful time for a seasonal shift – with nourishment, movement, and self-care.

Choose nourishment that’s seasonal. Fruits such as berries, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, peaches, plums, apricots, and watermelon are mouthwatering and deeply satisfying. Vegetables such as cucumbers, tomatoes, snap peas, green beans, arugula, radishes, and zucchini add rich colors to your summer meals.

Create a broad list of activities for yourself to enjoy during the summer months. Walking, biking, hiking, stretching, golfing, and even pickle ball! Pay attention to the temperature during the day and be sure to be active during the cooler parts of the day – early morning or later in the afternoon/early evening. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated to avoid exhaustion.

And lastly, take time to reset your goals and aspirations for the summer season. Write in your journal or write freely on a piece of paper to put by your desk or your night stand. Break down your goals to manageable and achievable action steps. Be realistic. And take the time to share what you are trying to accomplish.

Self-care is a cornerstone of health. Focusing on protecting your own well-being and happiness, particularly during stressful times, is essential. Practicing self-care on a regular basis will ensure a fun and health-filled summer.

Wising you a beautiful summer season!
