It was an absolute SHOCK to me when I tested positive for COVID just before I was due to leave for vacation to Maine. I taught the group Zoom class the evening of June 28th, thinking I just had a cold. I crawled into bed early that night and tested positive the next morning. My entire vacation was off as I couldn’t risk being with my parents. Incredibly sad and disappointing to say the least, and the only way I knew how to manage the emotions was to stay active (yes, I felt that well thanks to the vaccine)!

My dance teachers were amazingly present. I was able to take a Zoom ballet class on the 4th of July!

I finally tested negative on July 7th – in time to attend David’s aunt’s wake and funeral.

What a week.

I’m sharing this for a number of reasons:

  • I’m grateful for the vaccine that helped me move through COVID with ease.
  • I’m blessed to be able to turn to movement to manage my emotions.
  • I’m thankful for family and friends who supported me through the sadness.
  • I’m relaxed more in my expectations despite the best laid plans.
  • I’m reassured that life goes on – I’m not the first nor the last to get COVID.
And there…perhaps THAT is the story that needed to be told – to me most importantly – but hopefully to offer you hope should you find yourself in a similar situation when life throws you a curve ball.

Hold lightly…the story will tell itself.

May you continue to enjoy the blessings that surround you and trust deeply your ability to make the best decisions for yourself when it comes to your health.

I hope you are enjoying your summer!
